Entertain great minds, without deep pockets
Dear Enid, I’m hosting the greatest gathering of female minds since 1933, but I’m on a budget. What should I serve? — Eleanore R.
Dear Eleanore, austerity doesn’t have to be boring, and if you continue to be known as “no fun,” you’ll be dining alone a lot! The art of cooking delicious food (even simply) can be a great distraction from whatever’s in your way — whether it’s this heat wave or a tight budget. For me, summertime evokes memories of this low-cost, one-pot Chili, Lemon, Basil, Shrimp and Couscous dish. I like to enjoy it in Southhampton this time of year while my (former) Condé Nast interns toil away in the City.
And, assuming you can’t pair the meal with my signature Louis Vuitton x Fornasetti Architettura bag, consider setting the dish out on a wonderful Fornasetti plate instead, like the one pictured above. It is inspired by the famous architecture of the Santa Maria della Salute in Venice and is sure to satisfy the tastes of the great minds you’ve assembled.
Candidly,
